About Milton Abbot

Milton Abbot was named Mideltona in the Domesday Book. The 15th century church of St. Constantine is a beautiful building with a fine old oak lychgate. Built as a model village for the local workers, many of the buildings were designed by the famous architect, Sir Edward Lutyens. In 1850 there were five pubs in the village, but now there's only one - the Edgecumbe Arms.
